Don’t Count on Synthetic Meat to Save the Planet

“We’re happy to put lab-grown tissue in our bodies but not in our mouths”. Interesting argument about why synthetic meat is out of step with current food trends which place the focus on HEALTH and AUTHENTICITY. Culturally, we have a long way to go in adjusting our attitudes towards eating synthetic meat. So not only does the lab-grown option need to be either the same price or cheaper than the naturally grown alternative, it also needs intensive marketing campaigns to promote greater public familiarity and emphasise the benefits of choosing this option.
